From the poll list of albums this one is my favorite and I consider it one of the most important albums of all time.

I haven't owned any Black Sabbath for 40+ years...but I do agree that is a fantastic debut album. Stellar.

First one I thought of was The Stone Roses, which I'm happy to see has already got a couple of mentions.

(There was no good substitute for me in the list.)

From the mid/late 70s period any of Wire, Magazine, PiL, Gang of Four, This Heat, The Slits, Siouxsie & the Banshees, The Pop Group, Pere Ubu could have been in there.

Yes, absolutely. To which I would add the debuts by The Buzzcocks, The Raincoats, Roxy Music and Mission of Burma

Poll question doesn't match thread title.
You go in thinking greatest then get asked what's your favorite. For example, I was already thinking of picking Velvet Underground based on the thread title, but after being asked to pick a favorite, it could be another album based on subjective reasons. I could switch to picking The Strokes because they're more of a personal favorite to me, or Licensed To Ill because I listened to it as a kid and have good memories with it.
So what are you really asking?

Is your favorite team always the greatest? Or you're saying that your favorite albums also happen to be the greatest to you?

Favorite? Not sure, and it may not even be on the list.

Greatest? Are You Experienced, and that's what I picked.

Yes to the second question. Comparing sports teams and albums isn't a good metaphor though.
