    Jeez Louise... we can't arrive at a consensus for any given decade in rock music, or year for that matter... so the greatest of all time seems a bit of a stretch....

    And no, I'm not nominating Jeez Louise... ;)

    This is a very broad and subjective question, but if there was one great musician that influenced so many other musicians, it would have to be Louis Armstrong.

    I saw Stevie Wonder upthread and would probably agree.. A childhood prodigy despite the advantage of eye site, Wonder is one of the only modern musicians who can really be considered alongside Bach, Chopin and Beethoven.
