Beatles experts: when/where was this picture taken?

Would that be the same Mr. Greiff as mentioned in 'Crackerbox Palace'?

 

John looks pretty fried in those pictures

 

Not exactly fair. The top one surely shows him simply doing a bit of nearsighted squinting in order to focus on the photographer or something else in the vicinity of the camera...

 

Maybe...I suppose it's preferable to one of his infamous tasteless "spastic faces"...

I have no idea who she is , but that pretty girl looks like she was famous...

 

These stock photo were taken by Bill Howard (Associated Newspapers) on January 6-7, 1965, and the men have the same hats and the lineup seems the same, so my guess is right around then:

The woman in the top photo, back left, sitting holding a guitar, is the same woman as in the lower photo in front of John and Paul. She's also in the other NCM photos.
