Yes, I also looked at the top 10 hits of 2004, and none of the artists were recording in the 1980s. Janet was "old" by 2004, so for her to have a hit nearly 20 years after Control, it was going to have to be something really outstanding (like she did with "All For You" in 2001). "Just A Little While" wasn't a bad song, but it certainly wasn't amazing either. I'm still surprised that Madonna was able to manage a top 10 hit in 2008 with "4 Minutes."

And typical of Madonna, the hit version wasn't even on a Madonna CD until the 2009 Celebration compilation. Previously, we just had the Shep Pettibone remix on The Immaculate Collection. One of the great dance/pop songs of 1985, and it was impossible to find on CD. :(

Not impossible. Those European CD singles were kept in print for many years for a fairly reasonable price. It was probably only collectors, though, who even cared about having the original hit version. Common folks were probably perfectly content with having the Immaculate Collection remixes, as is evidenced by the massive sales of that album.

True, not impossible; but 'difficult' then. :) I just want Madonna (or Warners) to put out a nice box set that has all her hits in their 'proper' single mixes/edits; no Shep Pettibone, no Q Sound, no album mixes. Just the hits as we knew (and loved) them. It's top of my wish list, but I'm not expecting such a product to ever exist (Celebration was the chance to do it). I know there is a rare Japanese box set (the 1996 CD Single Collection) that's approximately what I'm talking about, but it's extremely expensive.
As for "Into The Groove", the Shep Pettibone remix is one of the few I don't really like on TIC. I like all of them except for it, "Like A Prayer" and "Express Yourself"... for those tracks I definitely prefer the hit mixes (or even the album versions).

Well, that would make it complete. :sigh: It's too late for Madonna (or us) to act like "Bitch I'm Madonna" doesn't exist. :( Call it The Queen Of Pop: The Complete Singles Collection (or a cooler name than that), make it a five CD box set packaged with a nice book (and heaps of pictures) and I think it would be a winner. What Madonna fan wouldn't want to own that? It would be a cool recap/memento of her career. Perhaps when she retires (if she ever does), they should do it then.

I'm watching her "Bitch, I'm Madonna" music video and also reading all the comments. Each one is talking about her old age and how she should retire.
Check it out. The video has more than 300,000 dislikes. Damn....

That would be a cool box set for the fans. If it's 14 tracks per cd a 5 disc would be just fine. She has that many hits. :)

And if they had released them "Love And Affection" , "Gods Of War", "Don't Shoot Shotgun" and "Run Riot" would have been hits also. What a Masterpiece of music this is.

    And let's not forget "Pyromania"

"Photograph" Billboard #12, Mainstream Rock #1
"Rock Of Ages" Billboard #16, Mainstream Rock #1
"Foolin" Billboard #28, Mainstream Rock #9
"Too Late For Love" Billboard #37, Mainstream Rock #9

Two Others from this one if released as singles would have cracked Billboard IMO, "Comin Under Fire" & "Rock, Rock Till You Drop"
