Best Of The Doors - Remaster Phase Inverted

I previously purchased The Best Of The Doors fatboy made in Germany 2 CD #960345-2. (LEFT IN PICS)
Yesterday, I picked up the same album in a non-fatboy 2-960345. (RIGHT IN PICS)

The masterings are pretty much equal from a DR standpoint, however, from a preliminary listening on my headphones on my computer, the top end certainly stands out more on the remaster that I picked up yesterday.

Upon looking at the waveforms in Audacity, I noted that both channels on the remaster are phase inverted.

Anyone have any experience with these two versions? (I tried searching)
Any thoughts on which version is preferable to keep?

 

As for which version you should keep, I'd say listen and decide whether you prefer the remaster. If the extra treble adds a bit of sparkle, maybe that's good. But if it's fatiguing, well, ditch it.

If it matters, I voted for the German original. I tend to prefer a warmer mastering (and then there's that nice heavy case).

 

Thankfully, at least, neither version is brickwalled or overly compressed, so I don't have to take that into account.
The waveforms look pretty similar except for the phase issue.

 

Can you post levels on your US remaster Disc 1 ?
I have a RE-01 later issue fatboy pre-IFPI

How unusual to see a remaster with MORE DR on some songs than the original!

Why not also give the AF a listen?

 

The AF is too expensive for me.
Honestly, I'm okay with one of these thrift store $1 finds.
Just don't need to keep both and have to decide which one.
And a Doors comp is enough Doors for me....no desire to own all of the individual albums.

Feel free to chime in with thoughts on sound quality of any version though.

The red arrows are there just to help point out some of the points where the peaks are obviously going in opposite directions for each respective channel.
(someone can correct me if my terminology is not accurate i.e. "phase" vs. polarity or whatever)

Yep, the same, I used 'Phase Invert' and it matched the German, I could hear no difference, My Japan DD RIO Past Master is phase inverted also, I corrected it and again I could tell no difference, some people may
Now the question, which one is correct? The old master or newer one

This phase thing intrigues me, and I see the differences in these waveforms. How does phase inversion affect the overall sound? Should I replace my 1985 USA version with the German one?

 

I don't think anyone has noticed a difference in sound up to this point.
