Finished the 83, 30 TATS show this morning and on to Michael Buratto - National Animal (one of my best friends and former bandmates), now Richard Thompson - Rumor & Sigh, then my guilty pleasure: Soul Asylum. Let Your Dim Light Shine on the docket for this venture into guilt.
I saw a tribute to Stan and Jan yesterday. Also an American/Swedish collaberation, this time by Jan Lundgren and Harry Allen with a rhythm section from Denmark. I'm really glad I went! Excellent playing and the bassist was top notch
NOTHING!!!!!...delving back into my collection of archive titles such as Closing of Winterland, Grateful Dead Movie soundtrack (love the bonus material) and the three From the Vault titles---hoping to get complete Fare The Well for Christmas which I trust will take me through winter and in the spring I can begin the chronological rediscovery of Road Trips!
Something from way outside The Dead's world: Catchy, teen pop-rock played by teens from Northern Ireland. Their biggest influence is probably The Ramones and they live on the fun, playful side of punk-rock. The Undertones - Hypnotised After hours and hours of the tripped-out space explorations of Dark Star, Playin', and The Other One, it's nice to get back to a snappy 3-minute single, LOL
Funny to see all the Beatles-I was having a serious Beatles session myself-comparing monos to stereos. Ha. Looks like great minds...you all know. Listening to the White Album and still marveling at their creativity. Amazing stuff.
My 3 George Piros (GP) copies of The Yes Album. I have 2 Monarchs (MO) and one from Richmond IN (RI). The first MO I bought (the one with the later catalog number of SD 19131) is the clear favorite.
