Nice set up, I really like the plinth. 44-G is great for mono 45s too!

Thank you for that! I can't believe you're able to tell by my image, should be helpful down the line :) Are the differences vast between the original and "improved"?

There are subtle differences between the 2 versions besides the cosmetic ones I mentioned. I believe the other major differences are the knife bearing materials (steel in S2 vs nylon in S2 improved), and the effective mass of the arm (12.5g in S2 vs 9.5g in S2 improved).

This site has quite a bit of info:

Here we go, VPI modified Scout with the 2" thick acrylic platter. Cartridge is the vintage Shure V15 Type 5MR. The cover is a custom made 1/4" thick full table top cover with no holes in the side and everything sits on a 64 pound midnight black piece of marble with shock absorbing feet, it's just a great combination bought at a great price.

Both of you have beautiful turntables.

All you turntable/vinyl lovers are invited to join us in hanging out and playing records over in the Listening To On Vinyl Now thread (in the long and winding threads). It's very entertaining...and addictive. These two are there all the time.

    Merry Christmas Tim:
Thanks so much! I sold all the Jeff Rowland after about 17 years, and all the HALO is nice and new and love it! Have you been to the "Long and Winding Thread" and seen all the fantastic pictures people have taken? Some of them are really stunning. Hope you have a Merry Beatles Christmas this year!

The whole system is now a foot to the right, with the speakers farther out into the room.
