I haven't seen too many Christopher Nolan movies but I've heard Memento was one of his best. If that's the case, then the movie industry still has yet to learn about remaking movies that don't need reparations.

  2. It IS his best. Remaking this movie would be such ********!

I liked that movie quite a bit with a great performance by Guy Pearce, but I would find it a tough slog to watch more than once, let alone a remake. I don't think it's a good idea.

Why not just remake Psycho scene by scene? Oh, wait that's been done....sheesh...

I shake my head at most remakes but this almost makes me bang my head against the wall.

I wonder if the people remaking it will take cues from Inception and Interstellar and spell everything out so even a three year old child could understand (or maybe that was just me?)

Memento is 15 years old, so by today's standards, it's already long overdue to be remade.

The whole plot and the ending (beginning) will be revealed in the trailer.

  10. I predict they will dumb it down by eliminating the reverse-plot.

Already remade in 2008, at which point it was (briefly) the highest grossing film in Bollywood history.

Serious head scratcher. Cannot think of a single reason to do this. It can only be worse. And it's not like it was a giant hit or anything.

  20. I think it's because of Nolan. His name helps sell tickets now. He's attached as a producer. The original was a hit (not big time but it made back its money) and it was a critical hit. They figure if there's a way to reimagine this as a big budget gun fest, they can take the pee ies and run with it.

That was an easter-egg (forward temporal order version) on the old single DVD - never did get around to watching it.

    Great film.

I've been told I have 20 blu rays in a basement somewhere... ;)

I had to research this again today to make sure it wasn't a hoax. Why dilute the unique aura of this film?

A: I saw Memento last night.

    B: The original?

A: Yeah, with Zac Efron and the talking dog. It was great!

    B: Uh, that wasn't the...never mind.

  25. That at least has the notion of bringing a foreign classic to a new culture group (lame reasoning IMO, but still...). Remaking a well known Western movie for Western audiences #noreasonatallexceptobviouslymoney.
This is even lamer than remaking Girl With a Dragon Tattoo.
