Hoping it doesn't affect play for you. I thought the mono side (side 1) sounded great.

The Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody" 12" plays at 45rpm though it is not indicated anywhere on the cover or label.

I thought this one sounded incredible.

This sounds like good news to me. Might try to seek this out this weekend.

    Anyone know mono or stereo?

Did you get it? What do you think?

I ultimately didn't purchase it. I had to choose between it and Jazz at Massey Hall. I chose the greatest Live Jazz Performance of all time :) I'm hoping to find it sometime in the future, we shall see.

I only picked up the Wes Montgomery and Carl Perkins and highly recommend both if you can still find them.

I may have to revise my opinion up a little. The sound didn't get much better as I progressed through the SRV album, but some of the performances are just killer like Third Stone From the Sun, Lenny, and Rude Mood. So while the SQ is subpar for an official Sony/Epic release and definitely disappointing in that regard, if you're an SRV fan, it's difficult to not have these performances in your collection. Keep your expectations lower, and you'll probably be satisfied with your purchase.

Yes, hopefully this heralds some more official live releases of Stevie. Though I'd also love if they just issued some of the official live releases onto vinyl, such as Live at Montreux!!

They should've issued that on lp when they released the Live at Montreux DVD and 2 CD set. That came out in 2001 so maybe they weren't thinking about vinyl back then?

The Live at Carnegie Hall would make a great release, well the complete version, would make a great release.

I stopped by my local Rasputin's around 2:00 and picked up the Parker/Gillespie/Mingus/Powell/Roach Jazz at Massey Hall box. That is the only one I really wanted this RSD, and the price was $55, much less than on eBay now. I saw the B.B. King Thrill is gone on eBay...that looks tempting. Missed the usual unreleased live Grateful Dead show on vinyl. I'm glad I went later than earlier..past times I've gotten charged up in the early rush and purchased records I don't really want or need.

Sounds mono to me. The Boom! LP says mono on the jacket as well. Actual mono mix or fold, I have no idea.

I had the very same choice. Fortunately, my store did not have Massey Hall so I didn't have to agonize over it. Now I have to avoid the sales. Damn budgets.

These ones had a little more "recordness" going on beyond their "roundness."

Sounds great but at $16.99 (at my shop) for essentially one song, it's no bargain.
