Quick, stupid and simple question about Amazon Prime and new releases

If I pre-order a new release with my Amazon prime account and choose free 2 day shipping, how close to the release date will I likely receive it?

My recent Prime record orders have all arrived on release day.

 

So far, I've done this three times. The first two times, it came on the release date (noon and 7pm, respectively).

The third time, the release date was on Friday, but it arrived the following Monday.

So, I would say, it should come on the release date, but don't count on it.

 

Same here. All preorders I've done arrived release day but for one, which got here in 3 days, not 2.
