It looks good but I wish QT would return to neo-noir crime films. I heard that he claims he will only make 10 films.

That looks cool, but another Western already? I think it's time he did a Sci-Fi movie. That could be awesome.

Maybe it'll be good, and if it screens in 70mm near me I will definitely go see it, but I have a feeling it's going to play out like this:
    1. Blah blah blah tons of wordy dialogue in a stagecoach.
    2. Ultraviolence
    3. Blah blah blah tons of wordy dialogue in a cabin.
    4. Montage
    5. Blah blah blah tons of wordy dialogue somewhere else.
    6. Super ultraviolence climax.

You forgot gratuitous close-up of Jennifer Jason Leigh's feet while 'Kool and The Gang' inexplicably plays over the soundtrack.

The trailer didn't do much. I get the feeling of a theater stage performance when they're in the cabbin just talkin. But theres gotta plenty of outdoor scenes, why else shoot in 70mm?

I hope I get surprised. Love westerns and Tarantino

Sam, Kurt directed by Quentin? I'm in! Although, I agree with wolfram, a space western would be a nice change of pace.

Going to watch it opening night. I love Quentin Tarantino films. His films feel like the closest thing to the Grindhouse films on 42nd Street.

Morricone is scoring. Would be interesting if his score echoed the one he wrote for another western set in the snow- The Great Silence.

Of course you exaggerate. Sounds like Tarantino films aren't for you. I think he's the best filmmaker today.

Yeah, you'd hope. It looks like there are some wide shots in the trailer, but I'm not sure how much benefit there is to 70mm for long scenes of people talking in a stagecoach or a cabin. Same thing kind of happened with The Master a few years ago: shot on 65mm, but in 1.85 AR and mostly not very wide shots. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful, but at the same time you got the feeling that it was shot on 65mm just to be able to say it was the first film shot entirely on 65mm in X number of years.

Hmm yeah. When I first heard of 70mm I thought great, do a Western with wide open country like dances with wolves and open range but....
Anyone read the scipt? That should give some clue to how much indoor scenes it will be

  23. I'm not the biggest Tarantino fan, but come on: Kurt Russell, SL Jackson and Tim Roth in a western scored by Ennino Morricone in 70MM? I'm practically drooling.

So three hours in a cabin. If it wasn't Tarantino I would be worried.
