It would be nice to have that officially especially with Pretty Thing, Reelin' And Rockin' and Roll Over Beethoven. There are also quite a few tracks that are repeated albeit from different broadcasts on my 2 cd bootleg of the BBC sessions.
A person who has worked on the previous From The Vault releases is supposedly pushing for some sort of 1972 release perhaps without video footage. This would be fantastic if it actually is released.
A remix of Ladies and Gentlemen would be ideal or just a quality release of anything from STP '72 Arguably the greatest tour of all time needs to be represented in their catalogue!!
They could just release the unissued live album from 1972 or a complete show. I believe multiple shows were filmed for the movie.
Yes, this one is a huge oversight. I'll take their shows from this tour over anything from the much more extensively documented '69, '71 or '73...
I like the 1972 tour better than 1973 because there was more of Nicky Hopkins and less of Billy Preston plus they were touring to promote Exile arguably their best album instead of Goats Head Soup. Goats Head Soup was good but pales in comparison to Exile On Main Street.
I am really keeping my fingers crossed. Plus, if Mick & Keith broke out of the DVD/CD restriction of these releases, it could really open things up. The possibility of really pleasant surprises would become greater.
Here's hoping a '95 club show is released sooner rather than later. Although something from '69 or '72 would be nice....
They filmed at least three shows from Texas for 'Ladies and Gentlemen', also recorded them for the un-released live album, along with audio from Philly. Odd that Eagle Rock didn't release audio CDs with the DVD release of 'Ladies and Gentlemen'; the film's audio is actually subpar (some phasing going on here and there), possibly due to difficulties in re-mixing it, as it was originally recorded in quad sound. I'd think that the (probably) separate audio tapes from those three Texas shows would have sounded much better.
Someone with knowledge of the From The Vault series has stated that they have the complete audio and video from Knebworth 1976 and actually considered releasing it a few years ago.
There should also be video for Miami '94 since that was a PPV special with special guests Robert Cray, Sheryl Crow. Although I like the VL tour, I think I'd rather see some of the other shows mentioned especially Atlantic City '89. Would love for that one to get the Bob Clearmountain mix treatment. The mix on my FM copy has way too much crowd noise mixed in.
An edited version of this show was legitimately released on VHS and DVD (?) back in the 90's. Good show with several unusual songs in the set.
I have bootlegs of both shows. I like Miami better because the set list is more interesting. I'm not sure how they handle the guest appearances. I guess the guests would have to sign off to release it.
I'd be thrilled if this show was officially released. I know it gets a lot of criticism for being sloppy in spots but it was the longest show the Stones had ever played up to that point (probably still holds the record) and the setlist contained many surprises. I absolutely love the "Wild Horses" from this show. Truly a thing of beauty. I was always under the impression that several songs weren't filmed for whatever reason (camera crew changing/saving film) so it's good to know that the whole show may exist on film.
I'll take those please. I'd like a re-release of the Voodoo Lounge concert DVD and that MSG show that was televised in the 90s. I'd also like Hyde Park re-edited in the right order, as complete as possible (I have someone working on that, unofficially ). That'll do for starters.
There are already quite a few releases from the Ron Wood era. The only thing I REALLY want is an audio concert from the 72 tour. Hopefully complete with the Stevie Wonder opening set. My first Stones concert and still my favorite concert of all time!
Eagle-Rock Entertainment is primarily a video company, but it does have a record label, Eagle Records, as well.
