I could have sworn there was already a post concerning this but I can't find it. Does anyone know whether or not the Japanese Mini LPs are remastered? The track listing for the first 3 albums does not include the crummy remixes that were included in the 2001 remasters so I'm hoping they are completely new remasters.

No idea. I'm guessing not as I'm sure if they were new remasters they'd let us know about it.

    Hope they are, though.

Hopefully they'll be Mastered for Itunes.

I think they assume we'll buy them for the packaging.

Which, of course, some of us will.:D

Like a prayer is not scented and almost impossible to get as a single title. Out of stock at CDJapan and not often on Ebay.
If you take all the titles at once you still can find a copy.

I didn't know that guy posted here! I suppose, on reflection, it's not a surprise.:D

I wonder if they've 'tweaked' Like A Prayer, which as far as I know has never been remastered.

Yeah, these are going fast. Like A Virgin is doing a disappearing act now.

Can someone let me know why these are disappearing so fast if they are not even remasters (especially if the sound is no better than the original LaP?). Is it really just for the nifty packaging? (I understand we're collectors, but even I have my limits!)

Madonna fans are starved of new collectable stuff. She's all about the 'now', so we don't get much!

Plus, MLPS are usually gorgeous, and these titles aren't over-expensive. That's probably enough for some.

Which Madonna CD album do you guys think was mastered the best? I liked the Q-sound of the "Immaculate Collection."

I always thought that weird Q-sound thing made it sound like she'd recorded her vocals in a public toilet.

I like the sound of her early albums, though Like A Prayer is very soft.

Bobby were all editions mastered using Q? My thrift has a few copies but I've heard negative things about it over the years so I've steered clear...

I think so. The Q-sound thing was 0ne of it's selling points at the time. That and the fact that many of the songs are remixed, of course.

Agreed. I know I'd rather re-buy the same vintage Madonna album in nifty packaging than buy one of her newer albums.

I'm guessing if the Japanese were to release a series of the first five Prince albums in LP packaging but no new content, we'd see the same thing. People would go bonkers for them.

It's a shame Madonna shows little interest in how her back catalogue is handled.

Can you imagine how well a singles box set by her would do?

No kidding, bizarre Warner/Sire would do a Mode in the 90's but not a Madonna box...

I think Madonna blocks these things. She'd rather people focus on her new stuff.
