Listen To The Band by the Monkees is one --
"plays a song and no one listens"
"play the drum a little bit louder'
"if they only listen to the band"
are some of the phrases in that song alluding to being in a band....

    He played guitar.
    We used to sit
    on the steps at school
    And dream of being stars.
    We started a band,
    We played all night."
