I really enjoyed her first solo album - it was fun and catchy - and her second solo album had its moments, so I am excited to hear her new release.

But that "Used To Love You" song was just painfully awful and timing of the video, with the divorce and the Blake Shelton stuff just becoming public knowledge, was just so uncomfortable to me.
It looked like a tabloid-esque grab for attention on the back of an unpleasant situation that should have been private.
I don't think that song would have been added to lot of radio station playlists if not for the real life drama going on in her life, so that whole single release was very alienating to me.

I just hope that the rest of the new album is a step back to the catchy, fun zone and I can get back on board.

Apparently, the bar one must exceed to "Make History" has been lowered a notch or two.

It seems the standard promotional mechanisms are grinding away full gear. Typical of current promotion practices, I guess, or perhaps a bit too "press-kit-ish".
    Or is that press-kit-ty?

This is Gwen's last shot with me. If she can't get it together on this album, I'll have lost all faith in her.

Did E! change one word of that press release before turning it into an article?

I had zero interest in this to begin with. Is it possible to have even less than zero interest knowing I would have to track down the Target exclusive to get all of the tracks?

This sounds right. I only did a quick check (so perhaps I missed something key) but exactly how is she "making history"?

love the album cover and so will her young female fans.
history? i remember years ago catching a commercial for a new bill o'rielly book. and he was saying that it containted the COLLECTIBLE HISTORICAL PHOTO of him shaking hands with regan.
so that is HISTORY, and collectible at that. probably one in a line of hundreds that day that he cold chickenhanded through never knowing that he was making HISTORY.
i wonder if the families of those guys sitting on the girder or the couple kissing on vj day would beg to differ.
now making a live video with a chain store is histoical. i got my dvr set.

What is that cover about? A tears>flowers>love>tears endless cycle?

Now I'm confused, I've seen three different covers already in this thread. Regular, Deluxe, and Deluxe with added drawings.

Love how Gwen is paying homage to Madonna with the single cover art  or maybe they're both paying tribute to Marilyn Monroe?

Is it me or does the song sound extremely similar to "Lovefool"?

It's okay. Better than her previous work, but still a bit dull. And yes, it sounds like "Lovefool" in some parts, but I wouldn't say it's a direct rip-off.

Reminds me of this as well:
