Also.... the first 12" of Big Audio Dynamite's "The Bottom Line" & "BAD" have a special place in my heart!
NOT the 'stripped down' Rick Rubin versions!

I always refer to this as the "Under Water" version.

First one to come to mind is the Peter Tosh with Mick Jagger Don't Look Back/Don't Space Out 12-inch, wish that was on CD.

And those Stones' Too Much Blood remixes too!

Another great 80s 12 - about the loudest record I had ever heard when I first bought it.

    Wasn't there a kind-a Thompson Twins 'medley' (ala "Stars On 45") on a B-side of a 12"?
If I remember correctly, it was called "Out Of The Gap"....

Bob Marley - Jammin' 12" was always a favorite of mine.

I second The Rolling Stones' Miss You

There's also a 12" mix of "Funky Dividens" by Three Times Dope that I really love. I forget the exact name of the mix (it's on a 12" single with several versions)

    Well, then.... while we're on the subject of TT;
I'll never forget, hearing "Lay Your Hands On Me" when my radio station played the import version. THEN, the US release had some 'rock' guitars all over it!
    Blah.... I thought to myself!

Yes, it's on the 2-CD 'Ultimate Prince' set, along with several other 12" versions. Here are a few other long versions of Prince tracks that have NOT yet appeared on CD to my knowledge. Most of these are straight unedited versions of a song that was edited for the LP/45 release (as opposed to being a remix):

America (21:46 full version - already mentioned upthread)
Pop Life (UK 12" which runs 9:07 and, unlike the US 12" (which has a remix of sorts), is the true unedited LP track that is a serious joy to listen to.
Another Lonely Christmas (6:46 full version - has a verse not on the 45)
♥ or $ (6:50 full version. To my knowledge, this song has not been released on CD - either the 45 edit or the 12")
Mountains (9:56 full version. This song has been slightly remixed from the LP, but has a really cool 6-minute instrumental part at the end)
Escape (6:25 full version - extra instrumental sections)
Sexy Dancer (8:53 full version - lots of stuff edited out of the LP version)
Paisley Park (7:07 UK 12" - slightly remixed from the LP, but has lots of cool guitar all over a dreamy, nautical sounding backing)
La, La, La He, He Hee (10:45 full version - just keeps going on and on, with a nice breakdown at the end)
Anotherloverholenyohead (7:52 full version - slightly remixed from the LP, with added horns. Again, has a nice breakdown at the end, including having the song end like the live version found on the video)
Girl (7:34 full version - another track that was faded early for the 45, losing close to four minutes of extra music in the process)
God (instrumental) (7:55 - not an instrumental version of the B-side of Purple Rain, but an entirely different recording that was featured as background music in the film. This was only on the UK 12" single.)

There's a few others that I haven't listed, but right there is over 110 minutes of really cool, officially released Prince 12" singles that are STILL not available on a CD in 2016! :shake:

Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Two Tribes (Annihilation)" is five times better than the 7" or (especially) album mixes.

Bowie - John I'm Only Dancing (Again). Until the Ryko/EMI reissue of YA in the 90s, the full version was only available on the 1978 12" single. The 7" almost edited out the best bit of it - the 'dancing... Dancing' coda.
