Oh sure! Stevie even made a special song for the commercials!

"Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing- you've got White Out to correct your mistakes!".

Well known by people who are big fans, but probably not by most of the general public.

But SH.tv is not the general public. Yes, I would guess my mom didn't know all those things.

Absolutely nothing there that isn't pretty well-known. I'll provide one - Stevie has signed legal documents with the prints of his thumb and index finger.

Did I miss something, or did that list jump from 7 to 10 and then proceed through to 13?

    This is true:

Is Stevie Wonder Cheating a Dead Man? »

Why Stevie Wonder Can Sign Documents With Fingerprints - RumorFix - The Anti Tabloid »

But I don't know why he did this when he is perfectly capable of both writing in general, and signing his own name. All he would have needed is a writing guide like this one to properly sign any document:

    MaxiAids | Writing Guides »

I find it very strange that he used his fingerprint and thumbprint instead of just signing the document. I'm sure he has signed other legal documents in the past (and of course had them sealed and delivered). :)

(I just don't want people getting the impression that Stevie is somehow incapable of signing his name just because he's blind).

Kind of a boring list to be honest. Plus the last one was more about Kanye than Stevie. (Even though I like Kanye)

Well known by people who skim through Wikipedia too.
Not a whole lot of personal research went into that thing, to be honest !

I knew most of that but who cares if it opens some of their readers to Wonder's 1968-1980 catalogue, which is one of the best things that exists on this planet earth.

Better for them to make a nice readable list instead of trying to analyse pure genius.

Would be extremely cool if one of those was that he was finally going to reissue his back catalog using the original tapes.

That's right. He can sign his own name, but our understanding was that this was his "way" of doing things.

One more truly cool fact: I read in Rolling Stones that while on tour in America, Stevie used to stay only at Holiday Inns, because the layout of the room, locations of lightswitches, etc., was the same across the country.

That makes sense! I would hate to have to re-learn the layout of each new hotel room I was in without the benefit of sight. That would be really, really annoying.

I had forgotten that Stevie Wonder had lost his sense of smell. I have wondered how this loss impacted his later music.

Well, he managed to write songs with a lot of vivid and interesting visual references and metaphors without being able to see, so I suppose he could write a song about smelling something (like popcorn at a movie theater0 without being able to smell.

Then again at least he could remember the smell of something from his past whereas he has no visual memory of anything. Hmm...

  24. I knew most of those, but I never knew Stevie jammed with Jimi Hendrix. I would love to hear that.
