It wouldn't be a George Harrison greatest hits if It's Johnny's Birthday isn't on it.

On second thought, including the Apple Jam tracks might not work- most of George's albums stop at ten tracks...

This guy was a Beatle. He had the...entire...world if he wanted. And he throws absolutely the greatest (imnsho) opening line ever at us. "Forgive me Lord, those years when I ignored you".

"Run Of The Mill." An amazing song, George projecting himself on a higher musical plane! Talking about Paul too!

Run of the Mill ... One of my favorite songs, by anyone, in this world, in any world.

Or put them into another poll with the current CD bonus songs (but no alternate versions), for two bonus tracks (one per CD).

    Almost Shankara
    I Live For You
    Out Of The Blue
    It's Johnny's Birthday
    Plug Me In
    I Remember Jeep
    Thanks For The Pepporoni
    Bangla Desh
    Deep Blue
    Miss O'Dell
    I Don't Care Anymore
    Tears Of The World
    Flying Hour
    Shanghai Surprise
    Zig Zag

and from 'Best Of Dark Horse' compilation...
    Poor Little Girl
    Cockamamie Business
    Cheer Down

and possibly from the 'Songs By George Harrison' EPs...
    Sat Singing
    Lay His Head
    Hottest Gong In Town

Is that every other officially released solo Harrisong?

    EDIT:
Horse To The Water (with Jools Holland)
Let It Be Me (Early Takes)
Mama You Been On My Mind (Early Takes)

'Out Of The Blue' and 'I Don't Care Anymore' would get my vote.

The moment I heard "Grey Cloudy Lies" I liked it. It's like a tired war horse; the final political song of the decade for him-a fine melody, interesting production, good lyric which doesn't reveal much. It's a track that even Harrison fans don't notice much, but the extra texture here is intriguing-that Arp synth, and Harisong's vocal is also emotional-he probably wouldn't haven't been able to perform this on "Dark Horse" if it was available. I guess the issue here is that it has more of a Dylan structure; just verse after verse, no chorus or bridge-maybe that throws off some, or they don't like singular melody.

Yeah. I wouldn't bother with 'MSL 2000' though, or any other alternate versions.

Thanks guys, I had the list ready but thanks all the same.

And fair enough, I'll add the apple jam tracks. But no MSL 2000 nor Almost Shankara (since I didn't include Wonderwall anyway).

Not that I'd vote for it, but has "Soundstage of Mind" ever seen official release?

Take out the Apple Jam tracks, put the rest all together, and you have one of the greatest George Harrison albums ever released in my opinion. There is a list for me that is virtually impossible to only choose two or three favorites from.

George Harrison is a lot like David Bowie - a lot of his best 80s songs weren't released on albums.

BTW -- Big Kudos to the OP for this thread. It's a fun way of compiling a true best of. George's people could take this list, add a 3rd disc of unreleased rarities, and we'd ALL be happy LOL
