The Graham Slee forum operates a home loan scheme, if you want to try the gear out in your own system.

    It's a nice preamp.

It's actually the one thing that's stayed the same in my list; here's the updated version:

    TT: Rega RP6
    Cart: Dynavector 20x2H
Arm: RB303 (plus Incognito wiring upgrade)
    Stage: Monolithic PS-1/HC-1 combo

  5. I use several different turntables from time to time:

    AT-LP120-USB
    GLI
    QRK
-All the above I swap out cartridges mounted in interchangeable headshells depending on what I am playing:
    Shure M97Xe
    Shure M78S
    Shure M24H
    Pickering NP/AC

And, an ADC Accutrac +6 with a Shure M97Xe mounted.

All my turntables have the tone arms that the manufacturer installed.

How do you like your Gyro?? I LOVE the looks and want one but they always say the Orbe is better BUT I think the platter ruins the look and makes it look just average, where the gyro looks ULTRA cool...

Totally agree. If you do want one but it's a stretch look on eBay and set up a notification. Sometimes there's some around, sometimes not. Over here you can pick up a nice used one for around £ 1000 upwards, depending on whether it has a cartridge or the external power supply, and what arm it has. It's basically a kit comprised of a number of precision machine tool engineering parts that you put together and will last years and years. So in my view there's not a huge advantage in buying new if you can get a reasonably recent used one. If you want any more PM me.

I have the same TT and just acquired the 440Mla cart (loving it). I cannot recommend enough that you remove the preamp. It may as well be a cancer. I guarantee that you will be delighted and have a different sounding TT. Oh, and get rid of the felt mat if you haven't already.

I had a VPI Aries 1 with the JMW 10.5 arm but, due to the constraints of my new house, sold it. Left over from my second system - I now just run a Dual CS5000 with a Shure M97xe cart. The Dual required new power supply capacitors to keep the speed on track, but other than that, the table has been super dependable, spinning 3-5 hours of music a day for the past seven - eight years.

Someday I'll get a better turntable, but right now I need something that lifts the arm up at the end of the record since my wife also uses the 'table.

I really like the TT weights stuff. It is well engineered and was designed with VPI TT's in mind, especially the Prime, which TT weights was making a knock off of.

They sold the business, is what I was told. Perhaps these designs will resurface at some point in time.
