If Drukqs by Aphex Twin is a classic album, "Gwarek2" is a particularly nightmarish moment.

Also, I don't know if Duck Stab/Buster & Glen by the Residents is anyone's 'classic album', but "Hello Skinny" is one of the most unsettling things I've ever heard.

The actual screaming(was that done by Waters?) a few minutes into 'Careful with that Axe, Eugene'.

The final song on the Mrs. Dolphin album is quite scary. Just after the 50 second mark, "The Colour of the Sky" gets quite jarring and ups the scary.

Actually, the entire album. Especially the first song, '100 Years'.

Witchy Woman - the Eagles. Henley's wailing in torture vocal backed by spooky harmonies
Dazed and Confuzed - Led Zeppelin - desending bass line, the bow section - soul of a woman
No Quarter - quiet key solo
    Peter Gabriel - Intruder

which reminds me of "the plague of the lighthouse keepers" by vdgg... in fact several of vdgg's songs can be called scary, i suppose

For me nothing compares to the end of John Lennon's 'Mother'

    Mama don't GOOOOOOOO...Daddy come home.

Each time it's a little longer and more gut-wrenching. The first time I heard it, on the headphones, I was like jelly by the time it was over.

  15. The Smiley Smile version of "Wind Chimes" has both scary and beautiful sections.

We have wind chimes on our front porch that are connected with both beautiful memories, a frightening Oklahoma thunderstorm in which there were sparks jumping from the wind chimes and my son's hair was standing on end as he ran into the house, and a horrible family tragedy. "Wind Chimes" has a special meaning to me whether in the Smiley Smile or SMiLE version.

I believe on early vinyl pressings the outro's name was included - The Haunting

When I was a teen-ager a popular band that sometimes played the municipal auditorium would play this and have a strobe light going during that instrumental part. I remember thinking it was pretty out there. Not especially scary but maybe a little spooky.

I can't remember the track title, but it is the second to last song on Captain Beyond/Sufficiently Breathless.
