Hey guys, lazy Sunday afternoon here, so I thought I'd share some pictures of my new speakers with you. These are the Kirksaeter Monitor 120. Built in 1979. The cabinets are handmade and the quality is awsome. I had to refoam the wofers, otherwise there were in perfect condition.

How do they sound? Well, not bad. They are a little bit in your face, with very pronunced mids, but the overall soundquality is quite nice. Anyway, I just thought some of you guys might enjoy the pictures :)

Very very cool. Are the stands "stock"?

Don't call yourself stupid, it'll give you a headache. I'm surprised these are too
upper midrange strong. Using three drivers, they should be quite balanced.
Perhaps it has something to do with the aged crossovers...

No, the stands aren't stock. I swap speakers frequently, so they come in handy.

Thank you guys. How did you rotate the pictures? If I may ask...

I think it's the typical German seventies sound. A little bit too forward for some. But since you can adjust the mids and highs it's not too much of a problem...

I just copied each URL from your Imgur link to the photo link here, one at a time. There was no need to rotate.

    Cool speakers!

New caps might help tame the top end, along with new internal wiring. Should sound smoother with those upgrades.

Wow, I hadn't heard of that brand in a long time. They DO like nice and clean. I got some cabinets from Madisound that were similar in appearance.

Nowadays we wouldn't mount the mid to the side of the tweeter, but those days were more innocent ha ha

  15. You bet "in your face" with a midrange dome like that! :yikes: Dripping with transient response. Need a nice vintage tube amp and a soft cart like a Grado and that might have some symbiosis.

Very nice...I had those and the later Monitor 140...with a Kirksaeter Receiver....the Receiver 150-200 was a beast and sounded great...I also had the preamp-tuner (one of the best I heard).

    enjoy your Kirk's..

Here they are side by side.
