America too.... I don't know if I would call it "great", but it sounds like The Bee Gees and it was produced by George Martin.

Not originally - the original 45 (Warner Bros. 7580, 1972) listed the producers as Ian Samwell with Jeff Dexter and America. Martin must've futzed with it subsequent.

I was wrong. Martin produced some of their work, and I'd just assumed he had produced "I Need You" as well....

Martin's "production" credit on that one dated to the History - America's Greatest Hits where he likewise was credited as "producer" on some other of their tracks from before he actually became their producer.

Beatles, Del Shannon: "Follow the Sun"

Bending the rules a bit here, but Del Shannon's "Keep Searchin'" was originally titled "Follow the Sun" and it came out around the same time as the Beatles' album track, so the official title of the Shannon single was changed to: "Keep Searchin' (Follow the Sun)".

Slightly off-topic, but there's a whole host of (not great) Bon Jovi songs that have titles that are taken whole ( or only slightly -altered)from superior songs. Off the top of my head...
    " Runaway" (Del Shannon)
    "It's My Life" (The Animals)
"I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" (Warren Zevon)

    There are others....

Bad Company has two songs --as noted above--with the same title as R&B songs from the exact era--"Can't Get Enough" and "Feel Like Making Love" But then,
"Shooting Star"--Bad Company and Bob Dylan.
