Crackerbox Palace (first) and Run of the Mill (second !!!) won the "tracks 9" poll.

Alternating winners and runners up, the track listing of our 'track by track' double set would go like this :

    disc 1
    1- Give Me Love
    2- Not Guilty
    3- Wah-Wah
    4- All Those Years Ago
    5- What Is Life
    6- When We Was Fab
    7- Behind That Locked Door
    8- Let it Down
    9- Run of the Mill

    disc 2
    1- I'd Have You Anytime
    2- My Sweet Lord
3- Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let it Roll)
    4- Isn't It A Pity
    5- Blow Away
    6- If Not for You
    7- Dark Horse
    8- Be Here Now
    9- Crackerbox Palace

And now, last round for the album tracks.

I've decided to put the "apple Jam" tracks here, because after all they indeed are album tracks. I know it's debatable, and I could have saved them for the "singles and stray tracks poll" that we'll do last. But, I figured it would be better that way.

To be consistent with our rules so far, IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO VOTE FOR TWO 'All Things Must Pass' JAMS.

    Let's vote !

My choices are the following beautiful ballads :

Learning How To Love You (a wonderful song, at the same level as 'Something' IMO)
Breath Away From Heaven (a beautiful song, and a highlight on an album full of them)
That Is All (another fabulous ballad, and a favourite of mine)

I'm pretty passionate about the last 2 Brainwashed tracks. "The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea" is very high on my all-time favorite George tracks. I also love "Brainwashed."

3rd choice was harder. I was thrilled when George had such a huge hit with "Got My Mind Set on You," but other than the awesome videos for that song, I often reach for the "skip" button. I like "That is All," "if You Believe," "Save the World" and "Breath away from Heaven" all about the same. Pleasant, if unspectacular Album cuts.

So for choice #3, I went with "Circles." I think he greatly improved upon the somewhat dismal 60's demo. I love that he finally finished it. (Now if i could just hear the 60's demo of "Art of Dying!)

I Remember Jeep is a great jam. Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker help kick it out. I would of loved to of been able to of watched these titans jamming away in the studio.
Brainwashed and Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea are part of a great close from George Harrison.

To me, Learning How to Love You is the best song here. Soft rock it is, but worthy of a mid-seventies Paul Simon. Well, a mid-seventies Paul Simon could even be jealous of this exquisite masterpiece. And I'm not talking about the guitar solo…

What a great comparison; I completely understand what you mean. It is a beautiful jazz influenced ballad, and one of the greatest songs in the solo Beatle period. I easily rate it as one of the most underrated Harrison compositions.

If You Believe - a positive end to a relentlessly positive album, and a "spiritual" song that can easily be appreciated from a secular point of view
Circles - I love most, if not all, of George's "Learn Eastern Philosophy in Under 5 Minutes" songs
Brainwashed - The sentiment behind the song might be a tad overwrought, but George's sincerity (and the catchy tune) make up for it. And George earns extra credit for properly citing his literary source. :)

  18. My faves here are two masterpieces, the first of which is probably my absolute fave here...
    ~ "If You Believe"
    ~"Brainwashed"
and not far behind my third choice is amazing too...
~ "Learning How To Love You"

But I struggled with my third choice against all of the 3 Honorable Mention list choices here too!

Honorable Mention: "Got My Mind Set On You", "That Is All", "The Day The World Gets Round" (** I love all the Apple Jams too!!!)

Seeing "Brainwashed" doing well is a pleasant surprise for me. You are all very intelligent Harrison fans and I tip my hat. :tiphat: (Okay you can stop tipping your hat now little man!)

"The Day the World Goes Round"

A nice worldplay in the title (okay, wordplay), this is probably the most underrated track on “Material World”. With a similar statement to other tracks on here, perhaps listeners feel worn out from the heaviness, but there should be some adoration saved for this gem. A gorgeous vocal, melody and arrangement combine for one of Harrison’s grandest epics. The lead in to the bridge is a tremendous moment for George vocally, and he sounds so inspired on that bridge that leads to the instrumental section. One more buildup near the end shows how the music ebbs and flows so gracefully like much of “All Things Must Pass” did.
