I think they are more 'in a silent way' than KOB. Spirit of Eden is my favourite album... Of all time. Listen to Bon Ivers cover of Desire on you tube.
There were DVD-A releases of Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden included with the vinyl reissues but I haven't seen one for Laughing Stock. I'd love to see one though. I bet that would make for a cool Steven Wilson 5.1 mix! I loved The Party's Over so much that I special ordered a Japanese LP of it at the time. That was before It's My Life came out though, which then became my new favorite Talk Talk album... and so on. There's some solid songs on the first album though if you aren't scared of synthesizers.
The Party's Over is ridiculously underrated. The first side is just spectacular; pop music at its best and most elegant
Does anyone know what the dvd is that comes with the reissue of Colour of Spring and is anyone able to comment on the quality of the pressing?
Great single and b-side so you're on the right track! If you like it, I would pick up Colour of Spring and then move backwards if you like the poppier side or forward if you like more avant garde.
I think the drummer is the only Talk Talk member, but if you enjoy Laughing Stock and Spirit Of Eden I absolutely recommend both albums. I would at least check out "Hex" the whole album is on youtube and probably streaming services
I believe Lee Harris only plays on Bark Psychosis' last album, "Codename: Dustsucker", which is (in my strong opinion) less 'Talk Talky' than "Hex", but I love both of those records.
