We think that's a repress of the KG/SH mastered version that came out in 2012. Not positive though.

You expect detailed provenance information for a free MP3 download code ?
Be thankful they've thought to offer one in the first place, it's not often the case with reissues.

I have that edition. IIRC, it's all analogue.

My point isn't really about the provenance. It's Kevin Gray's remaster. My point is more the fact that the only digital option is mp3 rather than at least FLAC or preferably hi-rez. I get that for someone who only wants vinyl its just icing, but the fact that vinyl is the only option for this re-issue is what I'm unsatisfied about.

Yeah that's a bit weird. But didn't a lot of the Yes stuff just come out on digital only? SW remixes. No vinyl. That kinda sucked for us vinyl listeners. I wish they'd get some consistency down for these things.

Thanks, I'll skip the Friday version and hope that Kevin Gray does one.

I would be surprised if the MP3 is the KG version.

Awaiting delivery today. This has Chris Squire at his best. Hope the pressing digs deep.....

Very Cheap on Amazon.UK - only £12 plus a few pennies.

It isn't. These are new vinyl cuts by KG.

    It isn't. And it's for ex-US customers only I believe .

Can anybody confirm if the EU version has Kevin Gray's initials in the deadwax?

I listened to the Kevin Gray version last night.

    1. This record sounds like a digital mastering to me. (I may be wrong.)
    2. The Eq is bright and harsh.
    3. The pressing itself is very quiet, flat and centered (A+).
    4. Kevin Gray's mastering is bright and harsh (D-)
    5. My USA original copy sounds much better except that there is some noise.

Aren't the masters for Yes in the UK? They wouldn't send original tapes to the US West Coast so it's possible KG got a flat digital transfer.

Yes, that is what I was thinking.

Thisisvinylcollector.com appears to be a Warner UK operation so I am assuming the pressing pictured earlier is a of EU manufacture.

KG's initials are on my copy, which is the EU edition....and I've never heard him do anything that was bright and harsh.

Do not agree with the above view. Great recording. May be a go to for test disc it sounds that good. Bass notes underpin in truly bowels of the earth fashion. Acoustic guitars sparkle. Very clean, detailed sounding. Vinyl flat, clean and very very quiet.

The analog master for Drama was shipped to the states from the UK for this specific lacquering. The Fragile analog master was already here in the vault.
Kevin got these analog masters to cut from. No digital sources were sent to him.
His lacquers were sent to Record Industry for playing and pressing for the world.
    Ditto for Fragile.

I wonder why Kevin got treble happy on this title. The bass suffers on his cut as well.
