One theory is that their site fading out was timed to coincide with the sun going down, and that a reveal is expected as the sun comes back up in 9 hours... I doubt anything new will be faded in - it's more likely to just suddenly become available, unless the actual announcement goes live then, with a new design slowly being revealed over the preceding hour.
Dead Air Space now redirects to http://ctrl.radiohead.com/deadairspace/ - make of that what you will...
Considering how long they've been working on this project, a double album wouldn't surprise me, except they said that such packages are pretentious - I believe this was back when they could have released Kid A, Amnesiac and the leftover b-sides as (at least) a potential 2LP set. Also, since we have quotes from Stanley Donwood confirming that he's been working on new artwork, not to mention the new logo and pieces seen recently, they're clearly not going down the all-white route.
I love how even www.reddit.com/r/radiohead is getting into the spirit of things by fading to white... Few bands get this kind of dedication!
Waiting anxiously to see what comes after the "white-out" of their social media pages and main website
It's amazing how Radiohead have injected a hesteria into our code without a single word. Only Gods can toy with a collective mind like that. I hope this album is God.
Once again, a user of Reddit has noticed that the main page of Radiohead's site redirects to http://ytku.radiohead.com/ - what could this mean?
Well, sunrise in London is officially in 10 minutes. They've had hours to prepare their various channels of communication. Will anything happen? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Apparently not.
Radiohead is erasing itself from social media. My quess why? Vinyl only!!! Radiohead Erases All Social Media and Their Website Has Faded to White; Is This an Anti-Viral Marketing Campaign? »
In the old days, musicians only got their records on the radio (and hence bought by people) when their record companies bought off the programmers with money, junkets, and drugs.
extraneous drummer notwithstanding, the songs were much better live. I'll definitely grant you that. on record, however, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
It even got a mention on the 5 Live radio news this morning. This is a talk news, sport and current affairs station, not one that widely covers entertainment (barring big celebrity musician deaths).
