Sounds a lot better not coming off the radio program...not that it sounded bad...but man, that fade out is....is....psychedelic!!!
Can do without the Peter Frampton talk box. Another one that can easily be done by the Beach Boys, but another solid pop tune.
just a question does anybody know if there are going to any bonus track versions like ie: japan etc ?
Another very nice track. Heightens my anticipation for the album. Has a lot of the melodic qualities that you expect of an Andy Partridge song.
Andrew, John Hughes and Adam deserve a lot of credit pulling off the unthinkable and unimaginable a 2016 Monkees Album!! Just heard the latest tune .. Love the bubble gum psychedelic ending..
Take a blender and puree The Monkees, The Beatles, and Brian Wilson, add a dash of Americana and a pinch of Paul Revere and the Raiders and you have the sound of “Good Times!" Lp
I can't believe I don't have more ammo to take shots at this latest reunion, but I gotta admit both tracks released so far are pretty decent. My only real problem is with some of the lyrics in both, which seem to be working through checklists of innocent '50s-'60s adolescent signifiers. Scrabble, pink party hats, root beer, beach volleyball...
Another great Monkees track. Are we sure it's the other Monkees on the backing vocals. I don't hear Peter at all, and I think I can hear Nez, but I'm not sure....as I was with the other track. Very happy with the sound.
Thought for sure that was Pete! (See DW Washburn 2015 live performance) Oh, and YBTS is now on ITunes available to download.
You don't hear Peter on the outro? Sounds like him to me. "you bring the summer , you bring the summer, you bring the summer around.."
Loving the new song even more than She Makes Me Laugh. As I was listening on headphones, that coda has a real Pisces vibe to it, IMHO...vocals and music. Is it me or does it sound like there's a mellotron on the track? A Monkees first?
Seems like the marketing campaign is not to show currents photos of the band, and keep the image of the 60's Monkees at the forefront..
I would also say that while the new song can obviously be compared thematically to The Beach Boys, it doesn't really sound like a Beach Boys song to my ears. Just a good summery pop song.
