You still don't get the context, do you? Not the same.

AC/DC just made a record, & has been touring as AC/DC with Brian Johnson.

Velvet Revolver was long after the fact that there was no longer a GNR with Slash, etc.

They formed a supergroup with Weiland, recorded an album, a tour, another album, etc, etc....

Knock it off! I know who all these bands are perfectly well. I get it. And noooo, you didn't stump me. What's your point?

I have tickets to see Guns N Roses right now, do you? If you do, and a report comes out that his hearing is bad, he's leaving & they're replacing him, are you in? I'm not.

The context is different. Why did you feel the need to pick here? I said, I sure the hell won't go to see GNR without Axl, and you think you make some point...that, like I don't know who the hell VR is?

There are people that have bought every AC/DC record since 81' and only know them in the context of Brian Johnson. They bought Rock Or Bust & want to hear a couple of those tunes. So, now they have tickets to see a novelty act.

You get it yet? Quit trying to find something here to beat your chest over. Work through your thoughts first please. I didn't think VR wasn't 3 guys from GNR, one from STP, & Kushner.

    Context is your friend.

As much as I dig Chris, I wouldn't be too thrilled to be told of a singer switcheroo for GNR shows right now.

I'd be pretty pumped if Soundgarden was added to the bill though! ;)

  5. I don't like the idea of Axl Rose being ACDC's singer, but in all fairness:

    1. he is a badass singer
    2. ACDC are great musicians
    3. ACDC know about music and singers better than all of us combined
    4. therefore they most likely saw artistic value in picking Axl Rose

They don't need the money, they enjoy making music and playing music onstage, they probably enjoy the challenge of having a new singer and the invigoration this challenge provides

He really does! Very exciting to hear that little clip. If he continues this for the whole set, this could get very interesting.

This is quickly turning from a WTF to a genius idea!!

What I don't get is how Axl sounds so good now, from the GNR gigs last month to now with AC/DC, he sounds better and more powerful than in his prime, was he just playing lazy in the 2009-2012 shows, especially the Las Vegas residence shows??

Here is a better vid that contains 4 songs. "Back In Black" sounds fantastic.

    Slightly on-topic and slightly off...

I'm quite an AC/DC beginner...Seeing them in Lisbon on Saturday and there's a 2 for £10 deal on their albums in HMV..

    I'm gonna buy four - I have none....WHICH SHOULD I GET???

He's lost a bit of weight, and for a singer like Axl, being in shape and not huffing and puffing from running around the stage whilst being out of shape makes all the difference in the world.
