Yikes is right. I'm almost embarrassed to have written the glowing endorsement above. As good as my experience was, it clearly needs to be tempered with the other example.

For what it's worth, I hope they send you a replacement.

 

Yes, this is the worst I've seen too. Just a matter of time before I got some damaged vinyl. Not sure the fault lies with ImportCD though. Suspect it's just a post office thing.

 

Ouch !!! yeh i think i am done with Importcds & CCmusic , i am on my third copy of an lp title & not even close to that bad , they have all shown up in a C shape due to extreme bending due to that packaging & it's juts a pain in the ass to use my packaging to send it back & take the time ..

Sorry yours was so bad ...... no idea why they don't just use sturdy & proper packaging ....

The problem with them is they want you to send it back. Should be an instant refund.

 

A little tape will fix that right up.

 

I have ordered records from importcds many times. Never had an issue.

 

Mine has arrived safe and sound. That doesn't help the guy with the smashed one though....

 

If you ordered the New Order album, make sure to test it. There's a widespread issue with the US version where the first disc has a warp on the first two songs. Luckily, mine has the warp but it doesn't skip.

 

Duct tape or the master tape?

Mine has the aforementioned slight warp on disc one, but I just stand with my finger on top of the cartridge during the first two tracks!*


*I dont; my setup tracks like Tonto.

 

I'll probably never set up my TT so it won't matter.

Got mine...Very poorly packaged in an extremely thin-walled cardboard box...But I lucked out and the albums themselves are in good condition...

 

Does anyone know any sort of special trick with ordering LPs from ImportCDs in order to get them to pack the damn things properly? I don't think I've ever bought any vinyl from this company, but I have purchased a lot of CDs from them over the years (though not lately). There is a triple LP set I might want being sold through Amazon (the price is higher on their website) but I don't want to order it and then have it show up destroyed. If I ordered two different items through them via Amazon (one 2xLP and one 3xlp) are these just going to be packed separately in those ****ty paper thin mailers?

 

I have found no solution to this problem other than this: If you order a bulky vinyl box set, those usually come well packed in special LP box mailers. Otherwise, for single LPs, it's hit and miss...

 

Indeed. I ordered two double vinyl albums and the were well packed.
