    Ok, thanks.
Someone had told me that the DVD was out of print.
    I guess that was why.

Leave It To Beaver- that would be a tough one for me as I own the DVD box of the complete series...but cool!

I don't know if the DVD is out of print of the "Classic 39" because I just saw the 39 at Walmart of Target for $9.99. However, the bonus material on the bluray makes that the preferred version to purchase :)

  13. OK, I'll play along and say "Skippy" and "Police Rescue" and "Midsomer Murders"

Now, "Skippy" might happen as it was popular in America at one stage, "Police Rescue" won't happen as the DVD's are long since deleted and the films were pretty grainy and even if "Midsomer Murders" did happen, we have the first 17 series on DVD (series 18 was only broadcast a few months ago and series 19 is scheduled for broadcast next year) so like hell would I consider it worth my money to fork out for unless there was a complete box set of the whole colection for under Au$200.

On the subject of grainy films, Kodak seemed to make film for TV (I suspect 16mm in this case) that was hideously grainy from 1989 to 1994, at least the shows in Australia shot on Kodak film from this time were flooded with grain and digitize pretty haphazardly: Police Rescue (a police drama/action series), Heartbreak High (a soap for teens) and Round The Twist (a kids/family comedy) were all badly affected and those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Even an SD rescan at a much higher bitrate would help these films somewhat. "Skippy" was also a bit grainy but, being from 1968, I'm not ioncluding that in this list as it's pretty old and I have no idea which brand of filmstock they used.

I'm guessing this was shot on video and thus stuck in SD forever.

All three seasons of Millennium I would buy, but the DVDs are pretty good as is. Those were a pretty big step up from the VHS copies I had.

The deeper I go into The Rockford Files ( season 5 ) the worse it gets ! Faces soft, fuzzy, out of focus. Colors running ? Night scenes with white scratches that dance over the picture ! :cussing:

How does 1978 look worse than 1974 ? @Vidot. please.

He could easily import (buying it from Amazon.com) seeing as the set is regionfree. Decently priced too so should hopefully not present any extra charges.

Thanks. I didn't know that so I will see what price Amazon has it for.

    * I think Rockford Files looks great on Netflix. I imagine a Blu Ray would look even better. I wonder if the original film elements have more info on the sides to eneable a widescreen version?

@Vidiot what do you know about how Rockford Files was filmed? Thanks in advance. Your expertise is always appreciated.

It should be easy to accomplish. The prints were already transferred in HD (and made excellent DVDs), but it would be great to get that extra clarity that Blu-ray could bring to the show. It's only one season long - 30 episodes.
