"With the Beatles" or "Help!" maybe. Or just early The Beatles. It's such jolly good fun without trying to be. The feelgood vibe is infectious.

Hmmm...a "comfort" album. I don't know, I never thought of it that way. So probably something that reminds me of better times, lifts my spirits and I can never get sick of. That would mean to me personally, a myriad of Elvis Presley albums.

    And...the entire Zeppelin catalog.

Surf's Up by the Beach Boys. It's such an innocent but emotional record, there's always a song on there to cheer me up or a song that gets how I'm feeling. As long as I replace Student Demonstration Time with Fourth of July.

Other records I turn to are Odessey and Oracle by the Zombies, In a Silent Way by Miles Davis, Ocean Rain by Echo and the Bunnymen, Heaven or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins, Laughing Stock by Talk Talk... Any album I like can be turned into a comfort album, I suppose!

Another Green World, Brian Eno. Troubles? What troubles?
Tonight's the Night, Neil Young. The ultimate late night chilling out LP for me.

Generally, anything that can be described as "autumnal" seems to do the trick for me.

Songs from the Wood by Jethro Tull, for instance. I look at that album cover while I listen and I can smell the campfire burning in the crisp autumn air.

For some reason I find The Lemonheads' It's A Shame About Ray as comfortable as an old shoe.
