Hahahaha! This makes me think of the famous quote....he failed to meet the very low standards that he set.... : ) Set the expectations low and fail to meet them ; )
When I first bought these speakers they sounded great in the corners and then after about 25-50 hours, they started to open up. Then they started to suck in the corners!!! Once they get about 350-600 hours, depending on your system and room, they fit into the corner without any issues. It is crazy! You put them back where they used to 'boom' and now they are balanced. The only issue for me is that my room is a wood, suspended floor over a three foot crawl space. Once I shored up the flooring, the bass was very close to what I was hoping for. They go VERY deep now. These are very musically rewarding speakers!
Yes I am and you are correct on the climate A few more years and we will be heading south.[/QUOTE] Just wait there for a few years and the climate will come to you
I am in love! Nothing bad to say about it. Beautiful to look at and the music it produces is pure ear candy. Could not be happier. I am sure there are many better TTs out there but for the moment I am 100% satisfied
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do the butcher blocks sit on the shelf....spikes? Is there a particular wood and / or thickness for maximum isolation?
I was going to post a couple pics, but jeesh. I have nothing compared to some of you guys. Why bother lol
In my opinion, some of the modest systems are the most interesting because the system components are quite often chosen thoughtfully, arranged neatly and are inviting to play and listen to. If your system is one such, I hope we can see it.
Very modest, especially in the waters of SHtv. For my vinyl I run... Lounge MCR MK III phono preamp Carver CT-29v preamp/tuner Carver AV-505 amp Klipsch RF-15 towers Klipsch KSW-10 I have a separate 5.1 surround sound setup for home theater Denon 2312Ci receiver Sony satellite speakers same KSW-10 sub as the vinyl setup The cabinet door is removed, but snaps back on with 4 magnets to hide all the electronics if I want. Wish I had a better location for it, but this will have to do. I AM concerned about heat though.
Oh poo! Come on, we're all friends here. I've never seen anyone's system dissed on here. This crowd isn't like that.
You are very right to be concerned about the heat, those components can't breath at all, in the long run, a very risky set up. I was faced with a similar situation and had to place fans at the back, but even then, while in operation, that door would have to stay off. I hope you rethink that present component stacking scenario, good luck to you.
I love some of the most basic systems in a room that is really 'homey'. Especially when you see posters or albums up on the wall. Obviously a room of a music lover!
There is just something about this set up. Vintage epic looking and sounding Marantz receiver. Vintage quality turntable. Speakers. The end. Why am I so inspired by this? This system has very little compression. You have inspired me sir. Great system. thank you for sharing.
