These are the ones I have seen, and love each and every one in their own unique way:

    Monty Python's Flying Circus
    Fawlty Towers
    Blackadder
    Mr. Bean
    Are You Being Served?
Are You Being Served? - Again!
    Father Ted

I also have the Keeping Up Appearances DVD box, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet (I'm currently working my way through my Leave it to Beaver box).

Most of my favourites have been mentioned apart from Peep Show.

That and Alan Partridge are comedy gold.

I was just watching Tristram Shandy. The promos for Alan Partridge interested me.

My mate is a huge Simon Pegg fan. She's talked about Spaced quite a lot. I watched it for the first time a few weeks ago (17 years behind everyone else) but I couldn't get into it. Maybe I was in the wrong mood. I might try again at some point.

Saw someone mention Ripping Yarns and although I would question it as a sitcom... Tompkinsons Schooldays !! Oh my my ! The best MP spin-off ever... well, barring The Rutles...

    I loved "Spaced"!
I guess if you're not in the mood for it, it won't be your 'cup-of-tea'.

Yeah, I heard good things about it too so I thought I'd give it a try (recently). I kind of liked the first several episodes, but I quickly lost interest as it went on, and didn't finish the entire run of episodes.

The mockumentary "I'm Alan Partridge" (two series) is the pinnacle of the Partridge World, in my opinion, closely followed by the original fake chat show "Knowing Me Knowing You", in which he "made his name"...

Then there's the spoof local radio webcasts of "Mid Morning Matters" which started after a very long gap, and with some different writers, but have had some really funny moments.

As for the movie, I've only watched it once and it was good but I felt a little something was missing and some of the humour was aimed at cheaper laughs than usual. I don't know if it's a good intro to the Partridge Galaxy but I wouldn't rule it out!

Lots of good ones, but I think Vicar of Dibley is my fave.
A great cast and my favourite was the old guy who, when asked a question, usually answered, "No no no no no no - yes!"

I love some of those listed, am indifferent toward others, and haven't seen others still. My favorite, however, will always unapologetically be Are You Being Served?

When the world has me down, I can put on virtually any episode from any season, steal away into the world of Grace Bros. department store, and just feel at peace for a half-hour. I know the scripts by heart, and the laughs are rote by now, but I don't care.

    "Are you free?"

    "I'm free!"

And my brother and I once got hugs from John Inman when he was signing autographs at the local PBS store here in San Diego in 1999. We asked his permission first, of course. His response? "You can never have too many hugs!"

No photographs of the moment. Just a nice memory.

I'm Alan Partridge is just brilliant, not sure if it has ever aired in the U.S. Great show to binge watch for a weekend, very entertaining.

My personal favorites over the years, roughly in order -

    Sitcoms:

    Absolutely Fabulous
    Fawlty Towers
    The Royle Family
    The Office
    Extras
    The Vicar Of Dibley
Blackadder (esp. season 2 with Miranda Richardson as Queenie)
No, Honestly (I loved this when it aired back in the 70's though I wonder if I'd find it dated now)

Sketch comedy shows: (as people are including them!)

    French & Saunders
    Monty Python's Flying Circus
    Da Ali G Show
3 Non-Blondes which should in no way be confused with Linda Perry and/or the musical group: 3 Non-Blondes are *way* better (and of course funnier)

Is Fawlty Towers a sitcom? If so that's my vote. My vote for the funniest TV show in the history of humanity :)
