Normally, before Xmas, in November. Usually twice a year, except this year. Wish they had sales more often.
I've usually found that sister company Deepdiscount beats out ImportCDs most of the year when you take advantage of their deals and more frequent coupon codes.
I was wondering as well. So I looked at my importcds.com purchase records from last year in November and December and found that I made a 10% off sale purchase on December 4. I think that it was toward the end of the sale, so possibly late November through early December last year. It could be similar this year. That Springsteen River Blu-Ray Box Set will be around $80 shipped if they have the 10% off sale! Around $89 shipped right now.
I'm (im)patiently waiting for 10% sales. Have a few big ticket items in my cart, that discount will help offset the hit from the low Canadian $
Can the 10% be used on their Amazon store - anyone know? The prices are often quite different from their web site.
Thanks, I got their e-mail and hadn't even noticed the 10% off, it's kind of buried near the bottom. Order placed for the SRV SACD set and an Anthony Wilson Groove Note SACD.
You're welcome, Blair. I always wait until the last minute to order in case of a new release or if I discover something, usually because I've read about it here on the forum. Also, the $5 charge per order keeps me from multiple orders. At the moment I have 25 (SA)CDs in my cart added since the last sale, and about 40 more in my wish list. As I pre-warned my wife yesterday, it's not a matter of what to buy but what to leave out, Canadian dollar be damned.
I placed my order right away, partially to prevent me from spending too much. But of course now I'm thinking about others things I could have/ should have ordered like a couple of the Jethro Tull sets and more. The 23rd is a long time away, maybe another order will happen. Plus I have my packages sent to the States so that per charge number is lower (I think).
If they do this every six months, the next one should be coming soon. Hope so. I've been waiting on a number of things.
Blair, I've received CDs that were never shown as In Stock and was told by customer service to go ahead and order and they will get it only if I order. Anything the site lets you order, potentially, can come in, unless, of course, it's OOP. They might fill 20 orders for a single title and the title never shows In Stock. Me, too. Last year was early May, but is usually June.
Whew ! Just finished comparing existing pre orders at Deep Discount, and Bull Moose, and got Bull Moose to cancel an entire order almost immediately. Deep Discount hasn't got back to me yet. Total savings : $15.51. Not bad. .
