Latest purchase from Ebay through the letterbox literally 10 minutes ago.

    Spontaneous Music Ensemble - Karyobin

Insanely rare on vinyl this is a limited edition release on CD that I heard about from one of the participants (Evan Parker) some months back.

Took precisely 6 days to reach me from Japan.

    From Amazon.

Remarkably, the one I bought was still in factory wrap with stickers from 1995 Best Buy!

I love getting cool stuff like that. A couple months ago I snagged a new copy of Rhino's Tennessee Ernie Ford Best Of cd on Amazon for only 10 bucks. When I got it in the mail it was a mint condition longbox! I see now there are no new copies at all of this cd on AMZ - that is quite rare.

I buy piles of discs via eBay and Amazon and supplement those hauls with must-haves from Music Direct, Acoustic Sounds, and CD Japan. For the sake of brevity, here is a recent eBay purchase:

It is a very rare (in my experience, at least) I.R.S. promotional CD single from 1987.

Right, but Amazon is matching them in the terrible company stakes.

....this is such a great box set. When it came out it was very reasonably priced here in the UK- 9 quid sticks in my mind. My fave "new to me" track on this box (ie- band I never ever heard of let alone heard) was Any Trouble "Girls Are Always Right". What a tune.

That's one of my tricks. I found a mastering #2 Born to Run for £3 plus shipping a few months ago on ebay. It's a rare US DADC for Europe pressing.

Without Amazon I would probably only have a few albums by Robert Wyatt. Instead, I have 31, including Soft Machine, Matching Mole and The Wilde Flowers. Also, he play on "Joy of a Toy" by Kevin Ayers and "The Madcap Laughs" by Syd Barrett, for example. :)

I did indeed! I found the more I heard from the band the more I liked them, ended up picking up everything from their S/T debut through ...Famous Last Words..., I've been tempted to pick up Free As A Bird but haven't heard many good things about it. Love the Paris album, I bought the 2 CD/DVD version, the 'Tramp were really at the peak of their power right then. Also like the live show on the second disc of the deluxe edition of COTC, even early on the band was tight as a live act.

Still can't believe it took me 'til 2015 to discover Supertramp. :imwithstupid: And now when I hear "Goodbye Stranger" I automaticaly picture Michael Scott singing "Goodbye Toby"...

Lovely wife got me the Steven Wilson set of King Crimson's Larks Tongues In Aspic, so I'm a happy camper and gonna give my surround set a good workout this weekend!

This after trying to order it through BestBuy's online service with a $20 birthday gift card back in January. Yeah, BIG mistake!!! After months of phone calls and broken promises my wife and I gave up on it and she decided to get it for me through Amazon. God bless her!!!:thumbsup:

I recently purchased a new copy of 'Four' & More by Miles Davis on eBay for $10 plus shipping. I thought it was the 2005 US version. It turned out to be the Jazz Heritage Society version which I already had. Returned to to the seller who moaned that she had to wait on the phone for an hour because she didn't know how to do returns. It said on the very bottom of her page that it was a JHS version but didn't post a picture of the back cover. She didn't even cover the shipping cost. Ugh. A lesson learned that cost me $7.50.

Somehow Amazon was able to produce a copy of the recent vinyl reissue of The Pod by Ween even though it seems to be sold out everywhere.

Maybe one of you will take a look at my Dick's Picks collection of Grateful Dead and think its the best deal ever? Over on ebay right now....

Weird how Amazon kicked out private CD sellers. I can only guess too many boots or pirated CDs were being sold.

I have more personal success on selling on ebay than Amazon.
