I got this disc today and I LOVE IT!
Nice relaxed mastering and darn if these aren't well recorded tracks to begin with...
a real pleasure. Thanks to all involved for giving us great samplers like this one.

A question...since Mancini was recorded in '59 was this a 3 track recording with one track duplicated?

Where can you buy this? Normally I go to sa-cd.net but it's not listed there, or the search comes up empty.

This is an awesome disc. Great selection of tunes and great sound. Pay whatever you have to to get this disc. :D

I can't help but wonder if this disc serves as a preview of titles to come from Audio Fidelity. Could Audio Fidelity release an SACD of Bitches Brew after MFSL already did? Blue Oyster Cult on SACD? The Isley Brothers?

SACD-Net is no longer adding new material. It has been superseded by HRAudio.net. which, unfortunately, is not as user-friendly. I ordered "The Collection" from Elusive Disc, but I believe it is also available from Amazon.com and Acoustic Sounds,

I couldn't agree more. Steve did a fantastic job on this comp. It sounds unbelievably great and I'm loving every minute of it. He is THE MAN when it comes to compilations.
I'm also hoping there are more in the pipeline. Oh and B.O.C. for a future release = Hell Yeah! I hope.

Listening to Collection in 4.0 now. Got this and the upcoming AF Nyro from Deep Discount cheap.
The surround mix sounds really nice on Collection so far.

Yes, same messy mix. The other tracks seem pretty nice in general. Is that a different vocal
    take on Shining Star?

Really terrific SQ! I really wish they would have had someone great do a 5.1 mix of this. Some of the 4.0 is good, some not so much. The stereo is magnificent though.

I hope Audio Fidelity will do BÖC in the future.

I don't have a MC-Setup, but the Stereo-layer sounds really very good. Great compilation IMO.

I really hope they do BOC as well. The original Columbia CDs don't sound like they are from the best source and the remasters are too compressed.

Playing through the quad mix of this one right now. Overall, nice clean sound and well-mastered. Plenty of use of the back speakers which is a plus for me in rock quad mixes. I was most interested in hearing Nilsson's Without You, as I've never heard the quad mix for any of his LPs (although I have all the quad LPs but no way to hear then other than in stereo). While as a Nilsson fan I'd love to hear all of his albums in quad, I was not overwhelmed with this particular mix(which I understand is an old mix that AF just dusted off and remastered for this collection). The ending of the track builds on the stereo mix and here it lost all of that impact. Playing That Lady by Isley Brothers and that one never disappoints. :)

If you like quad mixes and have the appropriate set-up on your system, I'd recommend this one. Overall a good set of tunes and well-mastered.

Nilsson Jump Into The Fire is one of the greatest quad mixes ever, it will completely rearrange your head. Here's hoping the whole album comes out...

Inside the booklet is a thumbnail of each of the respective songs' album covers. For Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man," AF used the artwork from the 1962 Blue Note album, Takin' Off, instead of the 1973 Columbia album, Head Hunters. Both albums had the song, but the versions are radically different and this disc uses the funkier '73 version (in keeping with the quad theme).

Sound quality is awesome. Thanks Steve!
