    Marantz PM-14S1 integrated $3000
    Marantz SA-14S1 CDP $2500
    Klipschorn speakers $9000
Bluejeans or Monoprice wire and interconnects (well under the $500 remaining)

I wouldn't bother with vinyl at all even though I have it in my current system. Speakers first and the largest part of the budget.

Well I'll assume this is $15K US so that makes about $20K Australian. So:

    Harbeth P3ESR Speakers: $3,300

Suitable stands for the above: $700

Project Xtension 10 Evolution turntable: $5,500

    Ortofon Quintet Black cartridge: $1,100

Musical Fidelity M6si integrated amplifier: $4,695

    Gigawatt PF1 power strip: $800

    Taoc MSMKII-3S Racking: $1,500

The remaining $2,405 to cover interconnects, power cables, speaker cables (Wireworld entry level reference series all round).

To be honest it is amazing how quickly a budget gets sucked up. I think the above system is sufficiently compromised such that if I were doing this in the real world I'd save up another $5K so I could get a good quality PS Audio power conditioner and move up nearer the top of the Wireworld range.

Retail was $4000 at the time and the local store was having a end of the year 10% sale. I bought it the last week of December and January 1 it was $4,500.

So I thought I'd resurrect this thread for the sake of interest. Here's a setup I'm interested in personally.

    • Pro-Ject 2Xperience SB ($1500) w/Dyanvector 10x5 cartridge ($650)
    • Dynavector P75 Mk. 3 phono preamp ($900)
    • Parasound Halo Integrated amp ($2500)
    • B&W 683 S2 floor standers ($1600)

I'd say that alone gets you at $7150, add $1000 for a CDP, you are at $8k and then have room for cables and then start buying and listening to music. :)

I'm fairly happy with mine (once I upgrade to a 2M Bronze). I'd rather spend the $9600 - $14600 on records. Oh and a vacuum record cleaner.

    I have $1400ish into my system ($900 speakers, $450 tt, $80 amp)

Some of the systems you all are spec'ing....id love to hear them.

At a 15k to 20k budget i wouldn't touch vinyl at all. I'd go cd player and the oppo as my dac and run a laptop through that.

    Modwright oppo 105D = 4k
    Parasound A21 power amplifier = $3k
    Parasound halo p5 pre amp = $1300
    Martin logan 60xt speakers $4k
Shunyata power cables and conditioner= 3k
Interconnects and speaker cables. I'd go with transparent audio music link plus along with some audioquest columbia xlr interconnects. 4.5k

Think that would be a killer setup..if I had to go closer to 15k I'd drop the power conditioner and use stock cables.

I presume one of the pieces will be second-hand, I've lost track of what the Uniti goes for new at the moment.
