Hidden relatives & friends only be heard in the distance or on telephone
Or behind something.. I hated that on Big Bang Theory..
    And many shows before..

Don't have the boredom of Full House (how was that garbage successful?).

Laugh tracks. Formulaic plot lines. Jokes that you hear the punchlines in your head before they reveal them on the show.

Good writers. Some of the scripts for shows are ridiculous. Sorry misread the topic. The BAD writers need to go. Get some with a semblance of talent.

Don't really know. But some of the shows, idiot box seems to ring true.

COMEDY...if they do the job promised and make it funny and then we all laugh...

Problem is there are varying opinions on what is funny. Some people, a lot evidently, think Adam Sandler is funny. I do not. I go for more of the smart and clever, like Louie CK...but I know not everyone likes him either. All shapes and sizes, I guess. Sitcoms don't have to be funny to stay on TV though (I hated Two and a half men), they just have to be profitable.

I literally haven't watched a sitcom from the major networks in decades! While I guess I've missed out here and there, I don't feel I've missed much. That said, I have started watching ONE this year and I actually enjoy it a lot; MOM! Allison Janney (CJ from West Wing), has she ever done any bad work? I can't think of any project she's worked on that I didn't enjoy. She's having the time of her life on this show and rightly so, it's a pissa!;)

RE: laugh tracks. Recently I've set my DVR to record the old Abbott & Costello show. I don't know if it's nostalgia but the show always has a few laugh-out-moments for me. Anyhow, last night I'm watching and I started to focus on the laughter from the audience. Definitely not canned, hearing the giggles and peals of laughter from the kids in the audience put a smile on my face.

If you got rid of "Two Broke Girls," that would be a good start.

I don't know how to interpret the question: What Needs To Go In Sitcoms?

Does it mean what needs to be removed from sitcoms or what elements need to be included in sitcoms? Any AIs out there? :)

When the "punchline" is longer than the "setup" = not funny.

Sitcoms need to go period. I can't think of a bigger waste of time these days. Right up there with Facebook and staring blankly into your smartphone.
