The Beach Boys recordings that reference amusement parks are gases. "Amusement Parks U.S.A." and "Palisades Park" are fun Beach Boys cuts that helped their respective studio albums in 1965 and 1976. Also, while Bruce Johnston's reference to the world of Disney in "Disney Girls" isn't an explicit reference to an amusement park. As a loose connection to Disneyland or Disneyworld, however, it makes for three successful Beach Boys songs in this vein. Could The Beach Boys conceivably record an entire album about this subject? Should they? Maybe a project in the style of Mount Vernon and Fairway with Mike Love lyrics would work.

    I'll bite.

The idea seems more 60's themed, but they could do:

    Tunnel Of Love *cover
    Love Rollercoaster *cover
    Tilt A Whirl *made up
    Ferris Wheel *made up
    Big Dipper * cover
    Lakeside Park *cover

I forgot about the great "County Fair", which The Beach Boys recorded for their debut album and was an early B side.

Only if they include covers of Love Rillercoaster, Merry Go Round, Spinning Wheel and Helter Skelter.

It doesn t seem like the Beach Boys exist anymore so I doubt this horror will ever take place,
Ok Beach Boys exist legally in the form of Mike Loves touring band. But I don t count them as Beach Boys anyway

The Beach Boys corporation exists in the form of Al, Brian, Mike, and the estate of Carl Wilson. Three of those people have the opportunity of a lifetime to create an amusement park themed album in keeping with their past artistic success with that theme.

Yes, they should, but only if it's about amusement part tragedies.

Yeah-I mentioned in my post that Beach Boys exists legally - that diesn t mean I consider Mikes touring band to really be the Beach Boys.

Inevitably, every Beach Boys conversation turns into "Mike's band isn't really The Beach Boys", or "Everyone knows that Brian really is The Beach Boys". Or a spirited straight up "Mike Vs. Brian" discussion.

    Lyrics and melody to come...

I would leave it to the BB's to decide what they want to record.
I have no objection to an amusement park compilation being released. It could even be in a set with different disks covering different themes (eg. surf).

We should make the band aware of what types of new songs their fans want them to record based upon their successful track record. The band has done well in the field of amusement park songs.

I am a fan, and I do not want them to do this.

I hope they hear me loud and clear.

Well, clearly. There won't be any more Beach Boys albums anyway, so I agree this discussion is entirely academic. :agree:
