Now, you need the SDS drive system.

I'd like that, but the cost (what? $1K? or more these days?) of pushbutton speed changing seems a bit much. I'll do the manual flipping of the belt on the drive wheel, much as it bugs me having to do it.

The SDS does more than providing a pushbutton for speed changes. It gives my TT greater speed stabilization and makes it easy to dial in. I also see it as a power supply. I went for a few years without the SDS and after installing it into my my system, I was kicking myself for not doing it sooner. The overall sound improved.

    hmmmm...[he says, stroking his chin]

What sort of connection is there between the SDS and the VPI?

I use two Shunyata Diamond Back AC cables, one from the outlet to the SDS and one from the SDS into the TT. Any regular AC cable will work.

Bought mine a few years ago now, if it needed all the gold, maybe. It works.
