She's always struck me as a bargain-basement "Lily from AT&T". She's also inexplicably changed from the receptionist to a salesperson - perhaps because she rarely appeared to be helpful as a receptionist.

Thanks. She doesn't seem all that irritating, but maybe her "charms" wear off if you see the commercial over and over.

And I think she's attractive, though she's no "Lily from AT&T"!

You got that right. Not to say the "Lily" ads aren't stupid. But Milana Vayntraub (sp?) is enough to make me forgive the banality the commercials.

The Elvis Presley Remote Control, I presume. Yes, and works best with CRT Funai junk sets.

There's a really annoying commercial song around these days that features a female vocalist singing something like "One day baby we're gonna be old", repeatedly, with vocal quirks and jumps.

It's for the Hyndai Tucson, but it won't work for me because I drive a Toyota Truth or Consequences ...

I barely watch any TV nowadays. But just about any modern commercial STINKS! Especially the Progressive ones, those are the worst.

    This commercial about Fatherhood.

Specifically, the girl at 24 seconds in "That unconditional sense of pretense...". I don't know why but the words she decided to use really bug me. I think it's because she's trying to sound really smart.

  16. There's an automobile commercial for Audi or Volvo, I forget which, that ends with the on-screen slogan "Intelligence is the new Rock and Roll". What the hell does that even mean? I guess I'm not intelligent enough to drive their cars.

I think it's supposed to make stupid people feel like buying that car will make them smarter.

    Or something.

  18. I don't know if there's a commercial for it, but Dunkin' Donuts grinds my gears anyway. We stopped there for coffee the other day, and I saw they now feature "frozen hot chocolate". If it's hot, how can it be frozen? If it's frozen, how can it be hot? I was awake all night pondering this question.

I dislike that insipid guy with a beard in the "True car" commercials.
"This is how car buying was always meant to be. This is True Car."

I also dislike the commercials where there's a team leader directing a small focus group.
Like the one where Ashton Kusher threatens to destroy the girls phone, and she says it makes her chest hurt.

Oh and there's the one where Jeff Goldblum plays a Steve Jobs-like character giving a presentation. Ok, I'm done now.

I've heard radio ads for that and pondered the same thing!

GM does this a lot. The ones where they describe the Chevy Cruze with emoji is disgusting.

Do you have trouble with "jumbo shrimp" as well? :D

Hope this doesn't blow your mind!

  23. No problem at all...some shrimp are bigger than others. But hot and frozen should be mutually exclusive.
