For the most part, jazz music just gets better as the musicians accumulate professional and life experience. These musicians are still levetating the band stand:

    Wayne Shorter
    Randy Weston
    Charles Lloyd
    Sonny Rollins
    Kenny Barron
    Roy Haynes

McCoy Tyner is not at his peak, but still enjoyable, and of the greatest ever.

I would love to see them again, though since it was 30 years ago, I doubt it's the same people--?

Judging by 'Randy's' voice... you KNOW he's the original!

Felix Cavaliere's Rascals........... seen them last night at Louisville's Abbey Road On The River Beatles Fest and they were really good. I didn't get a chance to see any of the recent reunion shows but I thought the show laast night was wonderful. The Zombies played the night before and I couldn't believe how great they sounded.

Sonny Rollins hasn't played a gig in well over a year and it's doubtful he'll ever play again

Oh, that is too bad. he is 85 now, and played into his early 80's. I last saw Sonny about 10 years ago and he was playing amazingly in his mid 70's.

Elton Hercules John. Was at his show in 2003 in Kremlin - it was just him and piano. It was a nice show, but on May 28 2016 in St. Petersburg he was with his band and it was fantastic. They played as if it's 1972, not 2016. Many songs from early albums, Elton was in a great voice - the only thing he couldn't afford - his old days falcetto, but the percussion man did it well. They rocked a lot and had a lot of fun - Elton was more rock n roller than posh pop-star, and Nigel Olsson with Davey Johnstone were absolutely insane.

I'd say all the once in a lifetime legends. From Paul Simon to Paul McCartney.

I haven't got the money to see many concerts but I did see McCartney in the summer of 2014 and it was an amazing show. IIRC that was the first show he did after recovering from the illness he contracted in Japan. Incredible show.

Saw McCartney the other night in Düsseldorf. Had to take a taxi from Cologne to catch the show, so it was quite an expense for me. It was still entertaining but his voice was very weak. It seemed he was having trouble just talking so it was quite a feat that he did a full show. I really do think he need to adjust his setlist to put far less strain on his voice.

I don't think Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers were mentioned. Also, Jackson Browne.
