Falling asleep watching a movie

Do you know the following problem:
I decide to watch a movie on DVD. Soon I drift off into sleep. I wake up, stop the movie, don't want to go to bed though, so I watch TV. No signs of sleepiness! So I decide to give the movie a second try. Fall asleep again! Wake up again, watch TV, and so on and so on.

Strange! Btw. I inheritated great sleeping skills from my mother's side, so I could theoretically fall asleep during any movie, they don't have to be slow, black and white, subtitled arthouse movies at all.

Luckily I fell asleep only twice in a cinema, during Pixar's Up! and Wong Kar Wei's 2046. In the latter case I remember it was because of eating too much pizza before the movie.
