What TV shows will you drop the remote for?

  1. I enjoy watching TV but recently, okay for the last five years or so, I have not really watched much purposeful TV simply because I have been busy until I go to bed. What I mean by purposeful TV is I sit down to watch a show, I make plans to do so. While there are some shows I really enjoy I have not found any that cause me to make plans to watch.
Because of this the TV I do watch is sporadic at best. Currently I find the nature shows Blue Planet and Planet Earth pretty good. I use to greatly enjoy Top Gear but the new version, especially Chris Evans, is pretty poor when compared to the old show. If I happen to be awake I like Archer too, for some odd reason, along with Robot Chicken.

Don't think there was such a concept, before Remotes?

When I was a teen, (late 60s) we had tv with a remote control that changed channels by pushing air through a tube; you pushed a plunger and the channel moved one channel. As there were only 4 channels to watch you had to push a few extra times to get through the blank channels.

There's only one show I watch as the OP described: Grimm. And I think it's been cancelled after the next season.:realmad:

Probably Sanford and Son. You know it's going to be good.

Well, you know it's going to be good if it's the first 4 or so seasons. If it's one of those episodes where Fred is gone or came back and stopped caring, then watch out.... :)

I'll keep them on if I happen to catch them, but I don't watch them on the DVD set. :)

  20. Well get on it dude! Seriously, you can stream some of these on HBO online, etc. and it's pretty inexpensive that way. Game of thrones and other shows including Westworld make them worthwhile.

Myke mentioned that he hadn't watched Tv in years as well and there some terrific shows in now...some are cheap of course but competiton has improved the quality of many networks.

Don't watch stuff on a computer screen and inexpensive means you pay something.

  24. Um, you can watch it on your TV with Roku, Apple TV or a Blu-Ray player with wifi. Don't have to watch it on a Computer screen. Yes, You pay something but $7 or 8 a month (I think that's how much I pay) for Netflix but that translates to, what, 23 cents a day?

Rather not. I retired early because of savings like that here and there over the years. . I do have free Netflix through my oppo. Use it once in a blue moon.
