Has the Residents' Mole Trilogy been mentioned yet?
Part 1 - Mark of the Mole (1981)
Part 2 - The Tunes of Two Cities (1982)
    Part 4 (!!) - The Big Bubble (1985)
It appears that this conceptual trilogy consists of three story/music records and three music records. Hence the 'part 4' tag... the remaining three have not been (and will likely never be) released...

I would go with Vulgar, Driven, and the Great Southern Trendkill. on Cowboys they were still figuring out the sound they perfected in the next 3 albums. Trendkill is way underrated IMO, and also continues their trend of album covers begun with Vulgar. the Cowboys cover looks a debut.
