Your favorite Led Zeppelin side

These are the five sides I would say are most legendary in their catalogue and exhibit their diversity, craft, and timelessness. The other sides are merely "great and essential"...

1. Side 1 of Led Zeppelin IV (Probably no big surprise. It's arguably the greatest side by anyone).
2. Side 2 of Led Zeppelin III
3. Side 1 of Houses Of The Holy
4. Side 3 of Physical Graffiti
5. Side 1 of Led Zeppelin II

 

Side 1 of Physical Graffiti. Closely followed by side 2 of In Through The Out Door.

 

I would go Physical Graffiti Side 3, with Houses of the Holy Side 1 as a close second.

 

Side D of Mothership...

Just kidding, Side 1 of LZ1 or Side 1 of LZ4

 

Side 1 of LZ IV

and in second place

Side 2 of LZ III

 

Toss up between side 3 of PG and side 2 of LZ III

 

Gotta be a toss up between Side 1 of HOTH and Side 1 of ITTOD.

 

Led Zeppelin III Side 1 is my favorite if I have to choose. The songs and the atmosphere are a perfect backdrop for the young band. I still get lost in the guitar army of Celebration Day.

Tough choice. With Zeppelin it totally depends on the mood. Can't just pick one.

 

Even more baffling is that they never play any Zep IV songs in the movie, they play Kashmir! Here's a nice bit of history about the mistake:

Out of curiosity, was that tune put there because it was near the end of the C-Side? Makes sense...

 

B Side of Immigrant Song single is what I could do...

 

Probably II of III, what with Tangerine, That's the Way and Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, and Gallows Pole ain't bad either.

LZ I Side 2. (but for many , many years it was LZ III Side 2)

How did I miss this thread regarding my all time favorite band!

It's too easy to pick side one of Zep IV or Side one of the debut etc. I am going to go with side C of Physical Graffiti for it's diversity:

1. In The Light
2. Bron-Yr-Aur
3. Down By The Seaside
4. Ten Years Gone

Sure, "Down By The Seaside" is not essential Zep, but it flows nicely after the bucolic Bron-Yr-Aur.
