I see a lot of live ABB tunes on the track listing - are any of these exclusive to this set or have they all been released before?

 

My loving and tolerant wife might be something else if I buy this.

14 LP's not on your life. I do not need everything on precious wax, sometimes CD's or hard drives do the job just fine.

 

180 grams times 14 is.... uh that's heavy load of vinyl. Imagine it pressed into a five pound brick. That's a lot of paper and vinyl going into a product whose content I couldn't find on the sales site.

Not only is she loving and tolerant, she's very, very smart.

 

So, will this be cut from high-res digital? I hope they don't use simply the CD version for the vinyl.

I am sure it is a nice set, but does one really "need" it, when you already have the CD set?

 

With today's quality control procedures I don't see this ending well.

 

They have all been released before, but some are from releases that fewer folks have like the out of print 2/70 Fillmore East and archive releases like Stony Brook.

 

Before the CD set came out, I was having fun exploring, and trying to collect Duane's session work.

After the CD set, I lost all interest.

I guess wanting is better than having.

 

The chase is better than the kill as the saying goes.

That's an interesting point, on one hand I enjoy the thrill of the chase and collecting old country and rock and roll stuff (often difficult as mostly only available in the US) on the other hand I am a bit of a sucker for a well put together box set and often it's the only way to get some of an artists music without paying a squillion dollars for a rare musty old platter.

with the new 700$ pink floyd box...no way i can get the duane box.

besides the cd version i had to make my own favorites cd mix anyway....

 

Will 1,000 box sets of 14-LPs @ $500 sell-out?

 

For the price I think I will stick with the CD version that I got a few years back.
