I've just had some old slides scanned and one is particularly attractive to me. It's my wife, but long before we met.

Only drawback is her eyes are looking downward, so much as to look as if they are closed. :(

Would an expert restorer be able to edit the image to change it, so as to have her looking at the camera?

  2. That's not restoring a picture, that's changing it into something that never existed. You would have to introduce two fake eyes into the picture. Don't do it and leave the picture as it is.

Thanks. I hear what you are saying, but we have so few pictures from that period.

What about her eyes from another picture of her?

Sure, it can be done. It's basically a copy and paste job with appropriate scaling/rotation/color matching/lighting/etc to make it look natural. If you have a different picture of your wife circa same period with eyes open, you could use that as a copy source. But some skill will be required to make it look natural.

You could have some fun and stick a pair of googly eyes on it...?

Message me during the week and I'll see if I can fix it for you.
