Judee Sill ...apparently her lost 3rd album is out. She has always fascinated me since an article in Zoo World magazing in the mid 70's. Would love to get a copy of her first release on vinyl.

    1) Let it Be (Naked) - which ironically I'm listening to right now.
    2) The Lilywhite Sessions - DMB. Yes these are still technically unavailable, and probably always will be. But its gotta be one of the most widely heard bootlegs ever.

The Stones' bonus disc with Some Girls deluxe is an excellent stand alone album if they had released it as such.

Eric Andersen recorded the album Stages in 1973 as his follow up to his classic Blue River album. The tapes were lost and were not found until the early nineties. The album was released as Stages: The Lost Album.

It was indeed a Lost Album, recorded in 1963 inbetween the "Pot Luck" and "Elvis' Golden Records,Volume 3" Albums, and was planned as the Follow-Up to the Latter Album, but was deemed too many issues by RCA,so it was shelved, until 1990 when BMG,the new Company of RCA,decided to issue it on a CD.

Lost Albums I loved was the planned 2-Lp sets of The Monkees "The Birds, the Bees & the Monkees" and "The Monkees Present",both planned, then pulled by COLGEMS,and "Add Some Music To Your Day" which later became "Sunflower" by the Beach Boys, with a nearly totally changed track listing.

On the Australian copy whoever did the label couldn't read the cover and it's called "For The Asking: The Last Album"

Jan & Dean's "Carnival Of Sound" is a great "lost" album. :agree:

"Countryside Blvd" by Cheap Trick frontman Robin Zander instantly comes to mind. Aside from being released as a download for less than a day, this album remains unreleased and was apparently shelved. This was intended to be his venture into modern country music, but it sounds much better. No songs about buffalos, rodeos, pickup trucks, dirt roads or big booties. This album actually of reminds me of Kasey Chambers meets the Traveling Wilburys.

Although, if it had been properly recorded by George Martin, undoubtedly a better title and album cover would have been produced.
    What awesome mod-psych music, though.
