That just seemed really important to note for some reason.

Hated this show as a kid. Love it now. (I even have a quote from the show in my signature.) What does that say about me?

I hated it when I was a kid. When you're 6 years old and think "boy this is stupid" what does that say about the adults making it?

So I have to ask... Did the rest of the cast find out that Mr. Ed talked in the finale? Is that how they ended it?

    No.
It turns out Mrs.Ed (Carol)was tripping on some bad Chipotle burritos and was having some weird fever dream. She woke up in bed next to her 'real' TV husband,Bob Newhart. At least that's how I remember it though it has been 50 years. Also ate at Chipotle last night now that I think of it...

A terrific, funny show! I've loved it ever since I first saw re-runs on Nick At Nite back in the 80's.

The show, like so many others during this era, had some some pretty decent script writers.

I saw an episode the other day that included "Granny" (Season 6, Episode 5), which I'd never seen before, which lead, which lead me to this.

I loved it as a child. Watching it now, it's pure American sitcom cliche of the era, except for the dialogue written for Mr. Ed, which I think is flat fantastic.

If you played the phrase "go right to the source" from the opening theme backwards, it sounds like "the horse is the devil" (I kid you not, check it out for yourself!)
